GUIDELINES FOR ORAL PRESENTATIONS

Lecture rooms

Each lecture room is equipped with a Windows laptop and a beamer. Since the lecture rooms can be quite large, we recommend that you use a font size of 18 or greater. Assistants will be present in each lecture room and can help the chairperson and speakers.

Speaker Ready Room

The room is equipped with with the same equipment as found in the lecture rooms. Checking in at the Speaker Ready Room is the most important step you will take to ensure that your presentation is a success. The room will be opened on Saturday from 07:30-16:30.

Presentation with Microsoft PowerPoint

Authors should bring their presentations on a memory stick and run it from the permanently installed laptop in each room. The use of personal computers will not be allowed. ALL speakers are required to check into the room where they will give their talk at the latest during the break before the beginning of their respective session (starting at 8:00 am for the first morning session). There will be no installation/uploading during the session! Therefore, we strongly recommend to test the presentation and/or software for compatibility early in advance of the scheduled slot at the preparation room. When you are finished reviewing your presentation and verified that it is ready, proceed to the room where you will deliver the talk and give it to the projection personnel that will queue your presentation in the room computer. Please help us to avoid unnecessary delays in the scheduled sessions respecting this procedure.

Other equipment

If you have special requirements (overhead projector, video, DVD). please let us know by November 1st 2008 at the latest! (E-mail: manfred.thuering@supsi.ch).
